In the recent news, the big movers and shakers in the UK equity markets are American firm Latham & Watkins. Kings of the deal, they have raised their stake in the UK and this will mean their hard negotiation style will have the potential to change the market. American firms have always been present but this particular move has shown real aggression. Latham & Watkins are famous in London for having produced Ivan Gazidis, the prodigal CEO of Arsenal Football Club, who seems to have taken the job well and truly to his heart and has fast become a fans favourite for his no-nonsense on the ball negotiation tactics. Latham and Watkins have earmarked the growth of the equity release calculator market as an industry they will be looking at intently.
